GhostA Poem by Annabel LeeStanding in the hallway while her parents fight LIstening and waiting thoughought the night Pressed against the wall, A result and a reminder. Mother on her right, And Father at the left. Spears through the air, The words they hurl. Feelings of despair For the girl. At the end, the silence screams, echoes of the fight ring though the hallway. And in between the shadows, Taking up space, The daughter. The weight of the battle hung over her shoulders. The sounding board to it all. A ghost. © 2009 Annabel LeeReviews
