Attempted Sin

Attempted Sin

A Poem by Tlhookomelo Survival (The Poet) Mashile
"

This poem is based on the burden of sin we humans have brought on this earth, and this all links back to the garden of Eden. This poem questions if things would have turned up different without sin.

"
It’s a felony,
From the deception of apples,
To the lips that lingers with sin,
Human race became exhumed rejected particles of the earth’s surface,
To be fit in a mental periodic table with elements beholding immortal atoms.
From encrypted thoughts made to impregnate wisdom to purist,
To open books whose wisdom lies behind gloating eyelids,
Let the outcast of spoken words infatuate blinded eyes with the melancholy of resented deeds humans discard on these designated true visions.
God’s grandeur,
A despicable time consumed creation, with the sparkling of exhilarating peaceful joy at midnight,
Bright circular symbol of globe at daylight,
With the riving of colours at sunset,
If nature dominated more than it was ought to be,
Goodwill would abseil from heaven to relish comfort man and ground creatures create in harmony.
If only,
If only the four legged could walk with their hind legs,
Two legged crawl with their foreheads;
Let eternity be equalized to meet both comfort,
Fore sin started with the fountain of forbidden fruits,
Vague reason our mindsets are condemned to know beyond sin and God’s troops.
We speak in undefined tongues,
Breathe in identical nostrils,
Though the stars are the only signs of our existence,
We still one;
Created by one,
We all emerged through the soil we walk on,
And from dust we shall elope.
