Let You LeadA Poem by Sirena snapshot of my lifeI guess I can trust you It's what I'm supposed to do But I feel so dry And I want to die But you promised more So on my knees on the floor I beg and plead for mercy Oh Father please don't curse me On faith I'm going blind Hoping and praying for a sign You promised compassion--fail me not Don't leave me here to dry and rot What if I say I believe And take your hand and let you lead?. I know you love From heaven above I know you're there In earth and air Yet I can't feel you near 'Cause I can't hear Through the voices and shouts That are racing about In my head, in my heart Tearing my mind and soul apart Please come to me Open my eyes to see What if I believe And take your hand And let you lead? Through the desert fire and storm I will let you shape and form Whoever you want me to be Despite the painful agony And years of abuse The memories have their use. I'll hold steady on Through sorrow and song. Through good, bad, and worst Help me to always put you first; So I surrender now And lay my burdens down. Jesus I believe I take your hand And I'll let you lead. © 2012 SirenAuthor's Note
