The HauntingA Poem by Sirenbecause the past never lets go
Day and night
Shadows bite. Take it all away. On her knees A little girl pleads And struggles, trying to pray. The monster of her dreams Every day is seen. He tortures and rapes. She trembles in fear Because he is here No matter what steps she takes. Mind broken and bent From all the trauma sent In those early years, She wishes away The awful way The voices whisper in her ears. The shadows are haunting, The spirits are daunting-- Her past won't let her go. Freedom from this And eternal bliss Is something she will never know.
