Chapter Five

Chapter Five

A Chapter by Siren

The life I live is

kind of

different

than

most.

My brother and I

still

ride the bus

even though

I’m twelve

and he

has his

license.

I don’t have

a

dad

anymore.

And I pop

pills.

Not like

I’m a

drug

addict

or anything.

But then again,

that’s your

decision

to make.

Mom developed

insomnia

after dad

died.

It was

weird

for her

to

sleep

in the same

bed

her now-dead

husband

had slept in.

I don’t

blame

her.

Mom though about

moving,

but she thought

it would be

too

much

change

for us.

The familiar can

be

good,

but the new

is

the

exciting.
