A Cold Rain

A Cold Rain

A Poem by Siren

A cold rain
fell as they
laid him down
to rest.

The wailing cries
of mourners
had no hint
of jest.

It chilled me
to the bone
and shook me to my
core.

I'd never known
such a painful
agony of grief
before.

A cold rain
fell as they
laid my love
to rest.
