Overwhelmed

Overwhelmed

A Poem by Siren

A weighty burden for shoulders so frail,

Scabbed over to hide the most sensitive parts;

A rush of emotions clamor about,

Too much for all of them to at once come out"

Shattered hopes and long lost dreams and broken hearts,

Strewn out amongst the hiccupping sobs and many a despairing wail…

And through utter weeping, knees bruised and bloodied from constant kneeling,

Seeping in is comfort…mingled with peace and healing…

The face in twisted grimace, now smoothing out its deep web of lines"

A sigh acknowledges the once gaping throbbing hole, now only a dull ache;

Realizing that this Love has no boundaries, no limits, no confines,

And finding that every burden that’s laid to rest leaves room for a new blessing to take
