A Gentle Surrounding

A Gentle Surrounding

A Poem by Siren

What man ever knows love right when it pierces his soul?

Mustn’t he wait ‘til Love’s magnitude swallows him whole?

Even captivated, he fights hard to get away"

His mind demands he flee, yet his heart, it begs to stay!

When did we last decide that we would surrender all,

Or did last consider the depth of Our Father’s call?

The One who redeems us was killed on our rightful cross,

So that we might die to self, counting our gains as loss.

We are terrified of the things that we might lose here,

Yet Christ calls bids we repent"the day of Our Lord is near!

Would you step out on a faith that is not all your own,

And be drawn by perfection your heart has never known?

Beauty calls our eyes to Truth as His arms spread out wide,

Drawing us by Mercy as Freedom pours from His side.

But even with our backs turned, His wondrous Grace abounds

As Love rescues us"embraces, encircles, surrounds.
