The Poison

The Poison

A Poem by Siren

Always holding on to your hate,
How much more of your life will you waste?
Is it worth it, the way you live--
To hold the grudges and never forgive?
I never knew exactly how much
This sickening poison could eat you up.
It flows through you, thick and black--
Sometimes I wonder if you'll ever come back
To the world of the living and the world of the free
But you have got to want this so much more than me
Instead, I simply hope that until then
I can do my best by being a friend.
