This is the heartbeat in the broken place
Where I feel like nothing more than wasted space This is the exhale of years of torment and pain Where I cry more tears than words can explain This is the grip of my unending sorrow Where I lose faith and hope for a better tomorrow This is the skeleton of a life terribly short-lived Where I find no strength or power to forgive This is the scar of sin done by my own hands Where I am caught in shame that too many understand This is the Grace of Love stronger than hell Where I am cured and forgiven and made well This is the sigh of a watered soul Where I am finally made into someone whole
