A Watered Soul

A Watered Soul

A Poem by Siren

This is the heartbeat in the broken place
Where I feel like nothing more than wasted space

This is the exhale of years of torment and pain
Where I cry more tears than words can explain

This is the grip of my unending sorrow
Where I lose faith and hope for a better tomorrow

This is the skeleton of a life terribly short-lived
Where I find no strength or power to forgive

This is the scar of sin done by my own hands
Where I am caught in shame that too many understand

This is the Grace of Love stronger than hell
Where I am cured and forgiven and made well

This is the sigh of a watered soul
Where I am finally made into someone whole

i love this write. the message was clear, the rhyming well done and there is one more thing which endeared me to it and that was "this"....each line began with "this"....i found my self humming the rhythm to annie lennox's song "why". listen to it and you'll see the connection. splendid poem!
