The TormentorA Poem by Siren
I'm looking over your shoulder, watching you.
I know everything that you do. I'm settled here, biding my time. I'm watching you bleed out your half-hearted rhymes. The pressure is building. Your mind is yielding. Time is ticking, minute by minute. I'm playing God, taking you to your limits. You've been a roller-coaster, a massive shipwreck. You see yourself as a horrid wretch. Stop wishing for death, you disobedient slave. Get in line, do your work, and behave. Let me lull you softly to sleep. I know these secrets you'll keep. Don't ever let go of your need for control. I'll be sucking out the life as you grow old. It will come, one day, soft and sure. The tears you will cry will be bitter and pure. I will haunt you the rest of your days. Don't believe anything anyone else says. You won't get rid of me, I'm what defines who you are. I am every binge, every pill, every curse, every scar. I will tinge your vision with black bats and blood red. I will torture you until you are dead.
