The Cliff

The Cliff

A Story by Siren
"

A short story I wrote... Not sure how, but this just came to me a few days ago.

"

I see myself on a cliff.  You are beside me, holding my hand.  I am trembling in a hurricane of emotion.  Anger, fear, love, hate, grudges, blessings.  It all wells up inside of me.

I take a step towards the edge, and your heart screams.  I ignore it.  I let go of your hand, ashamed of all that I am and all that I am not.  I don't dare to look at you, mighty and glorious as you are.  Instead I take another step.  You are silent but your heart screams.

Not heeding you, I jump.  The fall is long, weary, burdensome.  And when I land, it is on my feet, without a scratch.  I look to my side, and there you are, broken, bloodied, and bruised.  Smashed and scorned, you reach out and take my hand.

I really like this. I can feel your appreciation for the person whom stayed by your side during hard times.
