My Mark on the World

My Mark on the World

A Poem by kelly

Sometimes I seek comfort in quick resonating footsteps

echoing on the pavement

uniform tapping mimicking the rhythm of my life

renewing the expression of ecstatic enthusiasm

with each passing step.

Other times I seek discrete whispering footfalls

soles gliding off smooth surfaces

reflective, mirroring all transgressions and triumphs

stealthily creeping towards an unfathomable future.

The pleasure of the path

discretion and openness

a common thread

to the culmination of my desire.

Nice imagery and word choice... i.e.
quick resonating footsteps
uniform tapping mimicking
ecstatic enthusiasm

I saw a city street in the middle of the night and a sultry dance class of soft soles

love the alliteration creating onomatopoeia...i.e.
expression of ecstatic enthusiasm...soles gliding off smooth surfaces

enjoyed this one!!

This is so cool because I actually do this myself. When I am in a confident mood I will wear boots just to hear the click and other days I tend to be silent and wind up accidentally sneaking up on people and scaring them half to death (although this does please me lol).
I love reading something I can relate to.

This is pretty good. The first verse is excellent. The rhythm is really good and the words are musical and have a lovely flow. This is a clever poem and I like the change of mood and the comparison of different feelings, different moods, different desires. This poem shows appreciation of each special, individual, different moment in life.
