The SparkA Poem by Stephen J. VattimoA poem about the coast to follow Jesus. The Spark I believe I am a law breaker Reprieved from a sentence to dwell in a dark , empty , bottomless internal well . I believe Strengthen me to make a stand, when I am bereaved by lovers of this corrupted world. Who’s efforts are to uproot me as a unwanted weed. I believe Encourage me, To climb out of the mire. I often find my self engulfed in, When I have wondered off the path of light, And I have been deceived by the prince of lyres I believe You ignited a spiritual spark in my soul. Inspire me to cultivate the spark ,into a A consuming fire. By feeding it with kindling of the Word,Spirit, servitude. I believe You have anointed me to be a touch bearer. Carry the light of truth to the dark shadowy places where deception thrives. To bring the warmth of the flames of love and hope, that will melt coldness of hate and destruction. I believe With out Jesus the Christ I am unable to confront my enemies With courage and nobility as a man. Instead I scurry a long the floor searching for a hiding place, like a terrified mouse.
