Wintry Storm

Wintry Storm

Ice has settled into my veins
And I have become weighted down by chains
Yet my lungs cause me to breathe fire
The ice however refuses to tire

The weather is quite warm
And yet there is a snow in a swarm
The flakes dance in my eyes
As I think of all the lies

I try to hide from this cold
But eventually I shall fold
Simply smile I am told
Well the smile has been sold

But try not to think me bitter
At least you have a smile of glitter
I can lie a good game
Happy lies are one in the same

Is this smile real?
Can't tell can you? its surreal
That you couldn't even tell
You had me under a spell

At least soon the storm will come
I can already hear my heart beat like a drum
And to survive I'll be numb
So that I won't fall victim to your hum

I will bring the cold and ice
And from there just roll the dice
Since now this is twice
But this I guess is my vice

So until the flurries turn to rain
I'll be the mundane
Go on and guess who I am
Because my face is just a scam
