Silly Me? No Silly You

Silly Me? No Silly You

One minute everything is good
Then it all goes sour
Wishing for change by the hour
Letting your mind wonder
Thinking how easy to just
Put it all to an end

Everything that was ever planned
Disappeared down the drain
Causing nothing but pain
Nothing but tears
Not even the slightest of smiles
Even on the grayest of days

Gone is the light
From those once bright eyes
I can't believe I fell for the lies
I was silly
And to think,
I'm supposed to be smart

So now what?
Is the question on repeat
Do I admit defeat?
I could start trying
I can hide everything in a smile
And none will be the wiser

Oh but what to do?!
I have just the thing
And it might also sting
Oh but who will care
You know damn well
I'm the best there is

Now, now, no that is NOT ego
But truth simple and pure
For I often give more
A kind and blind heart
That is open and loving
Don't see that often now huh?
