The BetrayalA Poem by s_r_j_littleJune 10, 2014
Whenever I look into your eyes
I begin to only see lies Never thought you could be so cold As to just let me fold Then again I am just a fool To blindly be used as a tool Why are so few true? I was never but kind to you I wonder if the hurt plays out on my face Yet I shall be the winner of this race For what you do not know Is that I control the flow I can let you simply fall Then choose not to catch you at all For I will fight fire with fire But it will be you to tire After all, my flames burn My venom words churn Will you at last speak truth to me Because with me it will set you free That will bring you piece of mind Along with repay the kind So don't make something you regret And then owe me a great debt Any forgiveness will not be free If you continue lying to me Though I do care a great deal The knowledge, I can't dismiss what I feel Did you honestly think That betrayal wasn't on the brink? © 2015 s_r_j_little |
