Battle of the Sun and the Smoky CloudsA Story by LadyShennelToday I looked out my window and notice the dull wet day. Then I noticed the sun shining bright and pushing through the clouds as the clouds kept passing by. So I decided to put it in story form.I live in Texas: the weather here is never on seasonal
track. I see a storm coming, the clouds
covering over the sun that was just shining bright and pretty. The weather is at ease: not too cold, not too warm. But I love when the day is sunny and shining bright. But this day, the trees are all standing
still. I don’t see a bird in sight,
which tells me this fall day will probably turn into a cold freezing dull day. The yard is wet filled with lots of colorful
wet leaves. It’s the middle of the day,
almost time to pick up my kids: but the
dull day makes you just want to stay in and lay relaxing all day. Weather like this makes me feel down, lazy,
sleepy, and tire. Where is the sun? The sky is a light dull gray color: why is it not so blue. The sun hidden behind the dull gray clouds shows
something is coming: a thunder storm or
even an arctic blast. Fall is in the
air: but then you wonder will an early
winter take over. The leaves are
constantly falling filling the ground and covering up what is left of the dull
green grass. The trees are all kinds of
colors: but most are yellow and
brown. Signs of summer trying its best
to stick around, because of many green leaves still on some of the trees, the
warmth in the air, and the sun hiding behind the dull gray clouds in the sky
trying its best to push out to be noticed in the silent sky that will soon
change to sounds of rain, thunder, and even ice and sleet from a soon to come
arctic blast. So, does this sound like a
day for fun play outside? No, I think
not: the kids have to trade outside
activities once again for indoor games and movies. Oh, what is that creeping through from behind
the dull clouds in the sky? It’s the sun:
it has made its way visible and
known. It pushed right through and gave
the day for a moment a bright sunny summer or spring color. The clouds still trying to cover the sun, but
it’s putting up a fight. The sun is not
giving up too easy, knowing its bright days will soon be filled with dull gray
color rain, stormy and arctic blast days.
But for the moment, the clouds have given up and passed the sun by. Its bright light blinding my eyes as I look
up at it shining filling the day with a beautiful light. Wow, for a moment you can imagine it being
spring, but then again the sky says differently: its beautiful blues are no longer coloring the
sky because of the dull gray clouds from the fall season. Here in Texas, one would say many times it
gets either hot or cold: but every now
and then we have those days that brings the warmth and fills the day with ease
feelings of the weather not being too hot or too cold. As the day disappears and the night creeps
through, the day of today’s unusual fall weather will change into very cold
blowing arctic air, feeling homes with coldness in the night and causing the day
to be dull. So while the sun shines so
bright in the sky, I better enjoy what I see of such a great sun-shiny day. But once again, new shades of gray has filled
the sky passing over the sun again. The
bright day has become dull again, yet the sun still tries to put up a fight as the
gray smoky clouds covers all around it.
Oh but wait, once again the sun has won.
It forced its way back through the smoky clouds that passed over
it. The sun gives all it can to shine
brightly through the clouds to make the day bright and shiny. Oh wait, what do I see, a round circle sun
being forced to hide behind the clouds.
Off and on, it pushes its way through the clouds, as the day come closer
to the night. © 2013 LadyShennel |
