The most beautiful thing in the worldA Story by Shelby Everleigh
"What's the most beautiful thing in the world?"
The question goes unanswered as I have yet to say it aloud. I could imagine that the answer would be different depending on who answer, possibly also changing depending on who asks. I would imagine the most common answers being related to nature, some slightly odd bot might say catalytic bonding. Some of the more studious of individuals might rely on a mathematical equation or perhaps a historical event as an answer. The people of the world who are more competent at linguistics might attempt to come up with a poem as part of their response, perhaps even quoting Shakespeare. Yet most of these answer shall be lies, not all, but most. the most honest answers lying within, hidden, not wanting to be unearthed. My answer would be there fore in the beginning absolute scum, but eventually if one were to listen long enough would get to something entirely wholly true. It would go as such: "The most beautiful thing in the world? There are several. The sun setting and rising, the night sky, the foggy winter morning, the sea in a storm, the flowers blooming on almond trees on the way to school in the spring, people's eyes when they are being truly honest, an untouched field of flowers after a harsh winter on a sunny day, reading a book on a swing all afternoon without a care in the world, childhood adventures and climbing on trees, people who stick around even when you're crying, frost bitten noses, and snowmen built by eager children who all scream in unison "snow-day" as they are told they won't be going to school. There's one more thing though, something I see almost everyday. Her name, is Nuria. She has shoulder length curly brown hair, a triangular nose that is always just a little bit red, it's shape perfectly complementing her face, glasses that do nothing but enlarge her enchanting eyes, and a smile brighter than the sun, it's blinding. She wears clothes like they were personally tailored to her that very same day. That's not where her beauty ends though. She's smart, just perfectly intelligent, her hands are skilled at intricate work clearly represented in her ability with musical instruments and her art. Her art, only serves to promote some kind of feeling, possibly the same one that pulled her attention and creativity to deserve creating such beautiful works of art. Her voice can only be described as unique, some people might listen to it for hours if they could. She's a great friend caring about people much more than most would and at the same time still finding time for herself. she's simply magnificently perfect, I've got no other way to describe it. She's the most beautiful thing in the world." Now that I have answered, if only to myself, truthfully. "What do you think is the most beautiful thing in the world?"
