Sleep, Baby, Do: A Lullaby

Sleep, Baby, Do: A Lullaby

A Poem by Ada
"

A lullaby with a bit of a morbid twist.

"
Close your eyes, baby rest your head
Fall asleep baby do
Dream of fields of gold and red
Long for big skies so blue

Days they pass, nothing ever lasts
Fall asleep baby do
Nightmares come and the shadows cast
Soon they will have claimed you

Not a wink, not a laugh
Not a smile, not a breath
Not a hope, or a wish to come true

As you lay there still, so you always will
Fall, fall asleep baby do
Fall, fall asleep baby do
