To One who Knows Everything

To One who Knows Everything

A Poem by SuperChick62
"

Knowledge is a powerful thing.

"
You, who knows everything
Can you tell me why we try?
Can you speak what your truth says
And break down your fabulous lies

And tell me why
And tell me how
And tell me now

For I haven’t the patience to wait for you
To explain your cryptic ways to me
And I haven’t the time to hear your babbles
Of all the world’s greatest mysteries

So will you tell me lies?
Or will you tell me truly?
If you even know honesty

You speak as though sophisticated
You speak as though you know
And all the facts that say you’re wrong
You carefully, considerately forgo.

So ask me to go
If I’ve offended you
If my words are too true

Now. You, who knows everything
You, who’s wisdom river overflows
Throw back your petty esoteric disguise
And show us what you know

And let your words glow
Proving them truly wise
Or is it all just petty lies?

I read somewhere once that it takes a higher IQ to concoct an elaborate lie or tale, than it does to tell the truth. I've always wondered if there was any merit to it, but overall, when I meet people like what this piece so wonderfully describes, I tend to feel sorry for them. Because either they are someone who's walked a path where they felt like they always had to make up some new story or lie just to feel alive, or they are really smart and they are choosing to be stupid.

These days when I run across one of these types, I tend to just smile and nod at their blather, until I can politely get up and leave them to their own mental musings.

The piece was writen really well, with a good flow and I believed it achieved it's goal.

Great Ink! Thanks for sharing!

I really liked this one, it's very true and flows well. We've probably all met someone like this, you captured the person's personality really well.
I enjoyed reading it :)

This is a great piece of work, without a doubt. What really makes this work is not rhyme scheme, or any sort of technicality - it is just something that everyone can relate to, period.

How many people *haven't* wanted to get right up into someone's face and say this or something like it?

I have spent a lifetime listening to endless rivers of BS from people who were so full of c**p that their eyes were puffy - and more than once, I've actually stopped them in their tracks with questions like those above, when I just couldn't stomach it anymore. The resulting expressions were - to put it mildly - just this side of completely hysterical.

I love to see others expressing the same ideas, in such a clear, easy-for-idiots-to-understand format. This should me handed out everywhere.

This poem certainly brightened my day! Thanks!
