Every morning I wake you are there

Smiling and laughing with the purest joy

You look at me and your eyes get big

I smile at you and you kick your legs

You giggle and your smile says

'You have the prettiest face I've ever seen'

Which I know is saying something

Cuz only a few months ago,

you were looking at angels

You cry, and my arms cradle you

I rock you, and sing to you,

And you quiet and listen

Soon your little body is limp

And I know I have to lay you down

I do it slowly, and cup your head

Covered with little peach fuzz

With my hands, and send you to rest

I back slowly out of the room

And stop at the door

To look back and make sure

The gift the Lord gave me

Is sleeping in peace

A small tear comes to my eye

As I watch you sleep

Your lips purse, and your

Eyelashes flicker

But you sleep on and dream

Dream on sweetheart

You'll never lose my love

With all I have, I will be with you

Love the piece. I am now inspiried to write a piece for my 5 year old son Zion. I lost my wife Zion's mom in May 2007 and I got my urge after 5 years to began writing again. But i have yet to write that piece for the little man I love the most. Thanks for sharing a heart felt moment with us.
