Why

Why

A Poem by Grace Lea
"

This is the second in the two songs that I wrote after my friend's death; this was written about two months later

"

Is this how you thought it would end?

A split second death

What were you thinking

when you took your last breath?

Is this how you thought you would go?

Rain pours from the sky

As friends pass by your coffin

They say one last goodbye

We are trying to make sense,

And put the past behind

But a word keeps on spinning

Inside our minds, its 'why?'

Why are you not here?

Why can't you come back?

Why you, at one moment, in time...why?

I never want to do this again

To visit a graveyard

To see a friend...

This was very emotional. I know how this feels because of my friend's dad. We got along great, and then he got in a car wreck and died instantly. :(

Great write. I really enjoyed it!
