Loss

Loss

A Poem by Grace Lea
"

This was written only hours after a friend of mine died in a car crash, and it was still pouring outside, like it had been the night before...

"

Drifting in fog

Try to touch the world

Draw back in fear

Everything is so cold

Tears fall like pouring rain

I'd give my life to have you back again

Lightning strikes and leaves us still and dazed

Thunder rolls and brings us to our knees

We are in awe of the fragility of this life

A face, and a name

Float in our heads

Too weak to say it,

We cry it instead

We'll keep you in our hearts

Just one thing to haunt endlessly

Was your soul ready

to enter His eternity?

Tears fall like pouring rain

I'd give my life to have you back again

Lightning strikes and leaves us still and dazed

Thunder rolls and brings us to our knees

We are in awe of the fragility of this life
