Mamma where are youA Story by Dr Sunita AgrawalIt is a story about a six year old who is far from home in a boardingMamma where are you----- It was an early Sunday morning , soon after the hostel
breakfast, the kids were taken to the playground. The morning was bright and
the kids were joyous. Little Rishabh was sitting on the bench under the shade
of a huge tree. He was sad as he was missing home and mamma’s pampers. He would
remember how Mamma made his favourite puris and fondly make him sit on her lap
and feed him. He remembered how on is fifth birthday baba had got him the mini
motor bike which he loved to ride on. He would spend the entire day riding
around the whole of the house and would even show-off to his friends. Rishabh was from a very wealthy family Rishabh to a good
school and get good education. A school was carefully chosen in Patna so that
overpampering does not spoil him and divert his attention from studies. Hence
at a mere tender age of 6 Rishabh was packed away to a boarding school at
Patna. Here he sits lonely and desolate. Suddenly there is the shrill sound of the vendor bell.
Rishabh out of curiosity ran towards it and saw the vendor selling pineapples. Pineapples
were one of his favourite fruit so he felt tempted and called out to the vendor
to give him some. The vendor came close and asked for money . Rishabh didn’t
have any on him but was longing for the pineapple. So, he pleaded the vendor
give him some fruit and that he shall pay him as soon as he gets money from
home. The vendor was in no mood of charity. He snubbed the boy and
even abused him and went away. The poor child stood there crying and wishing
mamma was here. He kept on calling for her and wishing she would appear from
somewhere. Then as he was about to turn and go back to his bench, he spotted
some peels of the pineapple been thrown away by the vendor lying near the gate
of the ground. He ran and picked up the peels and licked them to satiate his
yearn to eat the fruit. Oh mamma where are you? © 2018 Dr Sunita Agrawal |
