The History of HerstoryA Poem by Poetic ShamblesShe watched art house movies as she smoked liquorice cigarettes, it didn’t matter what language as long as it was French or Spanish. She wore lots of jewellery that others had collected for her, each had their own story but it wasn’t hers. She lived her life at night eternally nocturnal, she befriended strange men, fraternally maternal. She kept secrets from her family in order to stay adrift, her parents would never know about all the chemicals that she’d sniffed. This person was intelligent but she just had mixed emotions, thrown at a young age into the depths of the ocean. The tide made her bitter to the ways of another so she watches foreign movies that she doesn’t understand, just so that she can forget about the others. © 2010 Poetic ShamblesFeatured Review
