I had to write this for school on body image. enjoy!

This is me

Young and innocent

Then you came

Showed me what was wrong

But why change me?

Why change the person I really am?

Suddenly all I know is lost

My faith, my personality, my life

I am nothing more than what you made me

Superficial and perfect

But somewhere deep inside lurks a voice

Nothing more than a whisper

This is not me…this is not me

Why did you do it?

I was fine the way I was…

To be me is to be different

To be spotted from the crowd

This is me

very moving and thoughtfully expressed~ it happens all too often that we permit the manipulative influences of others to reshape us even before we realize it is happening~BUT once we realize it we can morph back to original us because that realization gives us the strenght within~
