STANDING AT THE SHOREA Poem by michaelReflections of the turmoils of life and hopes of the futureSo I stand on the shores of my life, looking out at a not-so-vastness, I cannot see but recollect the oceans' waves in distance behind me. There are some tempest, raging gails, there are some calming seas, And before me distance seems so short that I could surely tread, For the waves have calmed to ripples, sometimes gently rocking , But I must beware of the calming effect, lest I sleep an endless drift. My longings now seem to swirl behind, mid the splashing of the waves; Tho' quite unsure, my sight now lies on other distant shores. And maybe now, somehow, I can breath with an air of believing, As I am soothed by the sound of waves clapping behind me, And at the same time eager to begin my journey of a lifetime ...
