Winter

Winter

A Poem by Sun Dog
"

The final poem in the series.

"

When my leaves are fallen
and blown away
and all that remains is the creaky skeleton
of my once loved and limber branches
you come to me
a snowflake
and blanket the ground around me

Together we die
as Spring comes reaching down
from within the sun's long and warming rays
and there is a twinkle exposed by the light
a lone spec of dust
searching for a place to dwell

This is an absolutely beautiful piece. I like how the trees are skeletons, which suggests that they are now exposed to the world. The piece of dust at the end was brilliant. It brings it back from fantasy to reality.
Very nicely written.

This are really amazing lines.
"and all that remains is the creaky skeleton

a snowflake
and blanket the ground around me"

Great work.

That was my favorite part. You captured the feeling of isolation. Loved this one as well and can't wait to read more of your work :)
