Summer

Summer

A Poem by Sun Dog
"

Here's the third in the series.

"

The weather has changed

There are days when the humidity

The tension in the air between us

Rises with the mercury

In our veins

Briefly shattering the moments

We’ve counted behind us

Still my leaves are greener than they have ever known

My roots have spread firmly in all directions

I have achieved a fullness a strength

a value which is newly recognized

We’ve weathered several squalls

That threatened our summer with raging

Skies and stinging rain

But they passed as quickly as they appeared

Right now our sun is at its zenith

And warms us mostly

With the taste of life

We worship one another

Understanding that tomorrow may bring another storm

But today is as quiet and tender

As the purple of dawn nudging the night sky

From behind the distant horizon

Nice. Good use of lexis and a reflective, bobbing along flow to it; very suitable for summer me thinks. Erm... any criticism? Well, the content isn't groundbreaking or original so the poem doesn't stick in your mind, but the way you write shows you clearly have talent. Good stuff!

I really enjoy your using the seasons,
its something that i have tried to grasp in the past and you have expertly gotten the concept.
I like your vague, just single word descriptions.
Its not about describing what something looks like, but what something is...
painting a picture.
Good Job!

I think I really like your writing.
Alot.
"The tension in the air between us

That part really stood out to me.
Can't wait to read more from you.

Once again, captivating. I really love the way you relate life to the seasons and weather, and in such an effortless way. Is Fall next? Looking forward to it :)
