SleepingA Poem by KristinMidnight skies frighten They toss and turn in the night A fear so strong it takes you Just a second to sense time It’s one in the morning A heavy hand lies next to you Dreaming in the night sky Flying through the soft breeze By two o’clock you’re waiting For the sun to find its way The birds to bring a new song And a playful game When its three o’clock you find a weakness In the eyes that can’t seem to close But it’s easier this time To want to let go Four in the morning and a dream finds you A long way to the end A darkened tunnel so dreary But the time goes too quickly A bird whistles at five o’clock An early morning melody Soft and slow like sleep breathing The unconscious meets you Six o’clock and bells chime A beeping sound so loud it taunts The morning breaks through the night But she simply sleeps by your side Its not worth it to move Her sleeping smile is true It's ten in the morning And she still loves you © 2010 KristinAuthor's Note
