Nighttime

Nighttime

A Poem by Kristin

Nighttime is so silent

Like a friendly whisper in the dark

So easy to get lost

But the moon fills your heart

The nighttime brings laughter

The leaves rustle in the night

A song they like to play

Just finding their way

We watched the stars while were waiting

A hopefulness that never lasted

A dream too far from nothing

With an unsteady hand

Nighttime shows the moon

Which changes its ways

In the middle of the night

Something comes your way

A mistaken star for a plane

The wish you thought forever

Birthday candles and clocks

There’s no easy way to say never

The darkness surrounds you

But it’s hard to be afraid

She’s there in the clouds

Awaiting the day
