LostA Poem by KristinClose my palm around the moon Squint my eyes to the sun Shudder in the rain Just trying to stay sane Shaking hands in my pockets A beating heart too fast The blood is quickly rushing Can’t escape the past There she stands by the tree Though intangible it seems A wink that makes you jump I can’t figure out what it means Sand fills my dreams Lacking of fresh trees Unable to move my own feet Just let me be It’s like a constant pause But in my own mind Waiting for the day To feel what I can’t find Her eyes are always there As if I can’t remember But the thoughts are stuck in pairs Caught in a cold December © 2010 KristinAuthor's Note
