Air

Air

A Poem by Kristin

Lack of air plays with your lungs

Your brain tells you to breathe

A constant struggle fills your mind

You can choose to plea

Flight or fight comes into impact

A simple choice you have to make

Meanwhile your lungs sense defeat

They feel so incomplete

Your heart continues pumping

But air is so longed for

a senselessness fills your eyes

Like a hopeful prayer you never tried

A rush of air frays your hair

Playing in the sun

Like a bad game in the afternoon

But the choice is done

I liked the imagery and description in this. However, I think that the rhyming structure didn't make much sense. Also, I didn't understand the use of the word "impact" in the fifth line. But that might just be me.
But otherwise, I think it was pretty good. Nicely done. :)
