CinderellaA Poem by CarleeA poem about dear dear Cindy.Cinderella never gave up her life of servitude. She simply changed the setting a bit. Now she lives in the castle. Lady like and serene.
A cage of silks and pretty veils. Giggling ladies and frowning teachers are her guards.
At least before she could sing and dance as she wished. With only her forest friends to see.
Now she is always watched. Careful eyes record her every move.
Before her voice always knew the songs to sing. Now the first words off her lips are, "Husband dear, may I..." "Is it alright if I..?" "Would it be improper if I...?"
Poor poor little Cindy dear. Little servant girl forever more. Now we look at her servitude with rose colored glasses. Her chain is now made of pretty scarves.
