Why are nights so short?

Why are nights so short?

A Poem by SM
"

Lonely nights when you cannot forget someone and your only escape is an alternate reality?

"
Somewhere had I felt
embraced by a pair of arms, I could melt.
No words said
neither a sigh in my head
just lingering serene silence;
seeking nothing but your presence.
Slender fingers thread through my hair, tangled amongst silky strands, stripping me bare.
Drowning deep in those onyx depths,
my only comfort nestled in your staggered breaths.

I recite the halcyon past of our moon struck gaze,
falling in love with frightening ease.
The moon emits it's radiance,
like a graceful swan in luminar ambiance,
when your absence haunts,
your ghostly touch daunts,
and the only sight of you is in my dreams,
my heart solemn, quivering through silfira screams;
gasping out tell-tale broken cries
I ponder, heavy misty longing soaking my face dries;

Why are nights so short?
