When There's Nothing Left To SayA Poem by December Blaize
So this is goodbye, it's not what I rehearsed
Sitting here thinking how this is the end Staring at the rain Washing away the pain With the messages I'll never send. A red fire that once burned so brightly Now is dead, dying embers of blue And all the bitter words Burnt black safety hazards Echo in my empty memories of you. It's hard to believe you could sink so low But if I can fall, well why not? When it all comes down I won't be around-- I got out without a second thought. Now all those regrets and doubts I banished Attack my fragile conscience And deep down I know We'll meet again below Where it's not such a pleasant last dance. Now I'm standing on the crooked corner Of Second and The Broken Road Ripping up your picture And a fantasy future Watching the pieces of my heart corrode. Maybe I was wrong all along, too good to be true; Famous last words are wasted on me When there's nothing Left to say or sing-- If you're looking out, that's where I'll be. © 2012 December Blaize |
