Soundtrack For Leaving A LiarA Poem by December BlaizeAbout making an album-full of mistakes and not even trying to fix them.I am cursed to think of you Every time this damn song comes on. You're leaving, leaving soon, But to me you're already long gone. I would rip my ears out Just to hear you say my name. I swore I'd leave this place Because without you it's not the same. I built a wall of lies and dreams But it couldn't block out raw reality. Everyone sees but nobody says If this were a court we'd both be found guilty. I got you into this ugly mess But I'm truly sorry to say I can't get you out. You've become someone you're not And I've forgotten what the fight's all about. I should have spit my words Instead of swallowing them sharp and whole. I want to believe it's not too late But I'm afraid I let this pity party out of my control. We're a one-hit wonder thankfully As all these thoughts are set to awkward beats. Twisted melodies scream a symphony But my sorry is whispered to empty seats. Like a broken record in my head The jagged notes march defiantly out of line. My tortured ears ring with feedback But this familiar tune is the sickest pleasure of mine. I am cursed to think of you Every time this damn song comes on. You're leaving, leaving soon, But to me you're already long gone. © 2012 December Blaize |
