Pretty BurningA Poem by December Blaize
Like the match you struck
Tell me, are we out of luck? It looked so pretty burning Flames of painful yearning For better times so far away But they come with a price and we all pay. So you think you can tell Sorry from just unwell? I should've known I couldn't win 'Cause all the things I never should have been Are now just ashes tainting This blue sky gray in a flame-kissed painting. Could we leave this place Leave it all for dead without a trace? Lies once white now are stained With blood reminders of smiles so pained And from this dream I'm never returning This dirty town looks so pretty burning. © 2012 December Blaize |
