20/20 In The Rear-view Mirror

20/20 In The Rear-view Mirror

A Poem by December Blaize

Here and now the fire's out,
Lost and found without a doubt,
Clock struck 12 so long ago,
The future lies 6 feet below.

Keeping time with two left feet,
Running straight into the street,
Misplaced my brains but I'm okay,
Plunging headfirst is the only way.

Think back to the loser days,
Remember your user ways,
Paradise was in your room,
Dancing in a sugar haze,
Goodbye meant see you soon.

Disenfranchised unapologetic youth,
Ostracized together in a photo booth,
Entertainment for the Carolina Bored,
Smash a television or be ignored.

Think back to the loser days,
Remember your user ways,
Paradise was in your room,
Dancing in a sugar haze,
Goodbye meant see you soon.

Living in a verbal nonsense mosh pit,
It's the end of the world as we know it,
The cycle doesn't stop for you or me,
Cashing in my wasted time that wasn't free.

No answers are found in the rear-view,
The mirror only shows what's behind you,
Nostalgia is longing for tomorrow's yesteryear,
That's such a lie and a pointless fear.

December Blaize
I'm not really sure if this is supposed to be a song or what; I just typed it as it came.
