Winter Cemetery

Winter Cemetery

A Poem by Summer Grace

All those tragedies
So long ago
Under the snow
Are silence now, silence now

Buried in snow
As the markers
In the winter cemetery
Go on and on

Under the winter
Sky, in the winter city
It’s cold and peaceful
As those who died

Years ago slumber on
He died on a September
Night when he was young
So long ago but on a winter
Morning decades later

It’s peaceful by his grave
As the traffic goes by on
The highway outside the
Cemetery
