Blooming orange
On the hills near
The sea, in Nor Cal
Now that it's springtime

Mean spring near 
Oakland, in San Jose
Today the winter

That never came is
Gone away, in the California
Springtime fields
Of poppies light 

Up California at 
Spring's first coming
As far away she looks
At photos of California

In the springtime- she
Sighs at the snow and
Wishes to go be where
California poppies 

Bloom, instead of 
Looking out to fields
Of snow, fields of
California poppies
