May Afternoon, PoemA Poem by Summer Grace
Humid grayness, white flowers on a bush
In bloom people leaving, people going People coming people returning Just a May afternoon gray clouds In the sky hinting of coming June And the rain that lies In those gray heavy skies Will make us forget The lighthearted part of the May just past Gone so fast though not young May's a sickly sweet bloom Petals falling on a grave Of a time that's gone before it begun Before it could be seen where It would lead and so the memories Sleep to reawaken when it's May Next year always May over the horizon Lilacs and lost things youth And May both have wings- Written November, 2010 © 2014 Summer Grace |
