In California, In the Sun

In California, In the Sun

A Poem by Summer Grace

In California under
The palm trees on
A sunny day the dead
Rest quietly as the

Palm trees stir above
They can't hear the
Crash of the waves
On the beach far

Off or the wind above
Them as the palm trees
Stir slightly in the breeze
Serenely slipped away

To the next world names
On a tombstone are the
Dead as we enjoy the
Day instead, in California

In the sun buried under
A palm tree in the southland
She rests quietly they rest
Serenely as the world
Goes on without them
In California, in the sun
