New ChallengesA Poem by writingcrazy55555A poem I just wroteI’ve been walking on a plateau this summer, no mountains shielding my view, the glorious sunlight on my face, caressing my skin. Now, I look up at a mountain with a peak so high, it is lost in the clouds. Nevertheless, I begin the journey to the top. sometimes, I slip, or fall over something that I wasn’t expecting, but I keep going, waiting for that first small glimpse of the top. My arms and legs ache, begging me to stop, to take a break. I ignore their pleadings, and continue with my long trek to the top. One day, I finally catch a glimpse of the top, and my heat soars with hope and longing. The next day, it is obscured again, but I know it’s there, waiting for me, and only for me. © 2012 writingcrazy55555Author's Note
