My Pencil is a Ballerina

A poem I wrote today.

When I write,

My pencil is a

ballerina.

It dances

across the page,

graceful,

elegant,

spinning and

twirling around,

tapping its

light pink

shoes delicately

on the similes

and metaphors

as it dances.

The paper is

Its dance studio,

The one place where

it can

express itself.

The ballerina

smiles and laughs,

for she is doing

what she does best,

dancing the day away

dancing its

complex dance.

Sometimes

it falters, and falls,

and the results are

often irregular,

but the ballerina

keeps going

until she has

met her

expectations.

Only then does

she rest,

satisfied.

The concept of the poem is great I just think it needs substance. It needs something to fill in the blanks your metaphors are creating.

The flow of this powem is really good. The short sentences say a lot and it has a lovely, creative rhythm, almost musical.
Do try and overcome the capital letters at the beginning of each sentence. Sometimes if one is persistent enough, it works.

wonderful idea..But I do think it needs a little editing...You paint a great picture of the performing pencil and I can identify with that...the amount of time that I spend writing...It really is a terrific idea!
