The End of the Line

The End of the Line

A Story by writingcrazy55555
"

A short story I wrote last year.

"

As I watched the creature circle around me, I knew that I had but a few moments. Although I knew that it was completely useless, I fought against the bands that tied my arms and legs together. It was no use. All that my efforts achieved was to create deeper cuts where the bands were tied.

The tiger continued circling about me. His golden eyes were narrowed, and his mouth was open into a snarl, displaying his sharp, glowing teeth. I knew that he could rip me to shreds with those teeth if he had the desire to. His chest heaved in and out, his tail swished angrily from side to side. The shone shone off of his fur, displaying his magnificent stripes. His ears were far back, clearly displaying his anger. He had gargantuan paws and long, curving nails that seemed as if they had been filed to a point.

I looked about me, taking in the clear blue sky, the pure white clouds, and the enchanting trees for the last time. A gentle breeze blew, making my dark brown hair flap out behind me in lovely dancing swirls, and it slowly moved the tiger's fur.

He stopped circling me. He prepared himself...................and then he pounced.
