Longing

Longing

A Poem by Sumana

There from the rain kissed road
I heard his foot steps
on fallen leaves scattered by the storm.

This heart which I thought was dead
started pulsating again...
The closer he came
faster was the beat.
As I rushed to the door.
a soft, cold wind came in
from the empty road outside.

Two drops of rain
fell upon my eyes.
Three golden words
from the core of my heart
I sent to my guest
to whisper into his ears
when they meet.

''There from the rain kissed road''
massive beginning and i totally loved it. only a few writings give us a picture in mind while we go through them. This is definately one among them.

This is amazing!!! Limn "to paint with words" you did in this poem. It's very powerful and emotional and the ending left me engaged to no end.
