Take away the chains, make me free,

Unlock this door which is killing me,

Take those ropes away from my neck

Let me say how much I want to be free,

Free from you, from your love,

Let me fly again, and be that rabbit in the meadows,

I’m not a slave and I will never be

Why did you enslave me?

Untie my veil and make me real

Make me whoever I am,

Just make me free…. One more time

"I'm not a slave ... Why did you enslave me" and "Untie my veil and make me real Make me whoever I am," are very telling lines .. such a profound love hate thing going on .. the speaker can only be a victim by agreeing to it .. yet the desire for freedom is powerfully expressed ... there is something repugnant in the pic .. laying blame for forgetting how to breath yet wanting the stigma to remain .. this is a very emotive poem ... so much underlying currents that pull this way and that .. whew! its exhausting!!

Enjoyed this. Just one point, the opening couplet implies a rhyme scheme, so not free verse as such, but

Nice simple verse which sounded like Ariana's song problem. But with a little difference that it was quite serious and intense.
