... I Slept

you told me you love me ,then why did you leave?

As I hold my pen at 2 am to write you a poem

My heart bleeds the words and my soul writes

When your number hit my screen as it’s a call from fate

I stared at it for a while and started to imagine the call.

 

When all what echoes in my head is you saying “ I miss you”

I kept on dreaming and thinking about your words

Until you hang off the phone with no answer for your call

You wouldn’t call again that’s what my mind said, but my heart said yes.

 

Few more minuits when I woke up from my day dream

I heard my phone ringing “and I still miss talking ,I still miss walking..”

When I held the phone and answered your call where my heart was shivering

And my soul way tearing and making me speechless.

 

“hey, happy anniversary “ , I laughed ,and smiled until my tears fell

I said with  my heart crying “anniversary ?” which one ?

We are apart and my heart is alone, you are gone so is me.

I hang off the phone with no regrets on my face.. I cried, put away my pen..

      And slept !

Ah, the poignant, intertwining system of thought between the mind and the heart and the struggle they fight each other in; you portray such strong emotions that all conclude quite satisfyingly in the form of closure, all the anxieties dying down and finally silencing enough to let you sleep.
